Irwin Steinberg founded our firm in 1972, and while we've been graced by many partners since, he remains the one consistent thread through our 50-year history.
Right from the outset, Irwin fostered tremendous loyalty among his client base. In fact, we continue to serve the legal needs of some of his original clients to this day.
Fairly early in the firm's history, we developed many clients within the pharmacy industry, and that remains a key sector for Steinbergs. One of Irwin's first clients was a pharmacist that ultimately became the owner of one of Toronto's biggest chains, and as his business grew so did his business interests, which helped spur our own evolution into a larger, more diversified firm -- one that branched out into many different key legal sectors.
In 2015, Steinbergs added additional lawyers and established a new tax practice -- a real differentiator given how few Toronto firms outside the downtown core offer tax law related services.
Today, Steinbergs' clients span all sectors and levels of sophistication and include large owner-managed businesses, high net-worth individuals and families, as well as many family-owned large, medium and small businesses.
Steinbergs features a good mix of young legal minds and seasoned law veterans. We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ businesses and goals, striving to provide practical and pragmatic solutions and advice, whether in handling transactions or other business agreements or litigation matters.
